Self-powered 5/8" magnetic speed sensor with 10ft cable and NEMA 4.

5/8" Threaded Magnetic Pickup Sensor

Item number MP62TA00

The MP62TA00 is a high sensitivity magnetic pickup that converts mechanical motion into a sine wave signal. Featuring an epoxy-encapsulated stainless steel body and a 10-foot shielded cable, it is built to withstand oil, dirt, and extreme temperatures from -40°C to 107°C.

Features and benefits

  • Self-generating passive operation

Requires no external power to operate. It generates a voltage signal directly from the magnetic flux distortion caused by moving gear teeth, simplifying wiring and reducing power consumption.

  • High sensitivity 1V threshold

Provides a 1-Volt peak output at a surface speed of only 10 inches per second. This high sensitivity allows it to detect movement at lower RPMs compared to standard industrial pickups.

  • Rugged epoxy-encapsulated body

The internal sensing coil and magnet are fully encapsulated in epoxy within a stainless steel shell, making the sensor completely impervious to dust, oil, water, and moisture.

  • Wide operating temperature range

Engineered to perform reliably in extreme environments, withstanding temperatures from -40°F to +224°F (-40°C to 107°C), ideal for heavy machinery and outdoor applications.

  • Integrated 10-foot shielded cable

Comes pre-wired with 10 feet of 24 AWG vinyl-jacketed shielded cable. The shielding prevents electrical noise and interference from disrupting the speed signal in busy industrial environments.

  • Fine pitch target detection

Capable of sensing gear teeth as small as 24 diametral pitch (D.P.), providing precise speed data even when using gears with relatively small or closely spaced teeth.

  • Standard 5/8"-18 threaded housing

Features a universal 5/8-inch threaded body for easy installation into existing brackets or machine housings, ensuring a secure and adjustable fit for optimal air-gap alignment.
