Self-powered 3/8" speed sensor for rugged gear-tooth sensing tasks.

3/8" Threaded Magnetic Pickup Sensor

Item number MP37TA00

The MP37TA00 is a durable, epoxy-encapsulated magnetic pickup designed for harsh industrial environments. It converts mechanical motion into a voltage signal with a 1V threshold at 33 in/sec. With its stainless steel body and wide temperature range, it provides reliable, maintenance-free operation.

Features and benefits

  • Self-generating passive operation

Requires no external power to operate. It generates a voltage signal directly from the magnetic flux distortion caused by moving gear teeth, simplifying wiring and reducing power consumption.

  • High sensitivity 1V threshold

Features a 1-Volt peak threshold at a linear surface speed of 33 inches per second, allowing for accurate speed measurement at moderate RPMs.

  • Rugged epoxy-encapsulated body

The internal sensing coil and magnet are fully encapsulated in epoxy within a stainless steel shell, making the sensor completely impervious to dust, oil, water, and moisture.

  • Wide operating temperature range

Engineered to perform reliably in extreme environments, withstanding temperatures from -40°F to +224°F (-40°C to 107°C), ideal for heavy machinery and outdoor applications.

  • Stainless steel durability

Housed in a stainless steel shell to prevent corrosion and provide mechanical strength against vibration and physical impact.

  • Fine pitch target detection

Capable of sensing gear teeth as small as 32 diametral pitch (D.P.), providing precise speed data even when using gears with relatively small or closely spaced teeth.

  • Compact 3/8" threaded body

The small 3/8"-24 threaded footprint allows for easy mounting in tight spaces where larger 5/8" sensors (like the MP62 series) won't fit.
