The HESS0000 is a 3-wire, NPN open collector sensor housed in a 3/4" diameter stainless steel barrel. Operating on 8-30 VDC, it detects ferrous metal targets up to 10 kHz. Its zero speed design makes it superior to standard magnetic pickups for low RPM monitoring.
Unlike magnetic pickups that require high speed to generate a signal, the HESS provides a constant output down to 0 Hz, ideal for slow speed machinery.
Features a sinking output (up to 20 mA) that is compatible with almost all industrial counters, PLCs, and Red Lion rate meters like the PAX or CUB series.
Operates on any DC source from 8 to 30 VDC, allowing it to be powered directly from the sensor excitation terminals on most panel meters.
Encased in a 303 stainless steel threaded barrel, providing maximum protection against moisture, chemicals, and physical impact.
Capable of tracking targets at speeds up to 10,000 pulses per second (10 kHz), making it suitable for high speed turbine or motor shafts.
The internal electronics are fully potted in epoxy, making the sensor highly resistant to the extreme shock and vibration found on heavy industrial equipment.
Uses a common industrial mounting thread size, allowing for easy installation into existing brackets or threaded holes in gear housings.
