How to reach the Intesis Gateway via IP after enabling DHCP?

23 Nov 2022

In this article, it is explained how to reach the Intesis gateway if it is no longer reachable after the initial Setup when DHCP was activated without a DHCP Server on the Network.

PRE-REQUISITES

Physical access to the gateways.

IN THIS ARTICLE

If there is a DHCP server in the network, the Intesis gateway will be able to receive the IP address automatically. If the computer is in the same network, the Intesis gateway will be displayed in the Intesis MAPS software.

If there is no DHCP server in the network, the IP address of the gateway will be "0.0.0.0.0" and will not be accessible.

There are two solutions to reset the IP address if the gateway cannot be reached.

  • Connection via USB cable.
  • Factory reset.

Connecting via USB Cable

  1. Connect with a USB cable (if there is a USB port on the gateway).
  2. Disable DHCP.
  3. Set a new IP address manually.

Factory Reset

If there is no USB port on the gateway, it is necessary to reset the configuration to the factory settings. It can be done like following.

On a Protocol Translator:

On a Modbus-Bacnet Router:

Please check this article How to factory reset a Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP Router & BACnet MS/TP to BACnet /IP?

On a DALI Gateway Without USB Port:
