How to select a specific operator or network mode for your Cosy/Flexy cellular connection ?

When an Ewon is using a worldwide provider SIM card (Like 1nce for example) or using roaming because it is installed in a foreign country, you may have to select the right local operator to make the connection work.

Select the Operator

For this, use the Operator selection combo box in the Ewon Web interface to select the Operator (with better bandwidth or lower costs).


This option is located in the Modem page (Setup→System→Communication→Networking→Internet Connection→Modem →Interface), you can choose the Operator among the list of operators found by the modem.

Select the network mode

In case of connection instability, it may help to force the network mode on 2G, 3G or 4G.

In the Modem page (Setup→System→Communication→Networking→Internet Connection→Modem →Interface), you can select the Wireless Network among the list of 2G, 3G or 4G if available.

Select the Operator

With the Cosy, it is a little more complex to select the operator, as you firstly need to retrieve the list of available operator. They are several ways to do this, but here I will explain how to do this without usage of additional software.

Retrieve the list of

To retrieve the list of operator, use this URL and replace the IP by the IP of your Cosy:

http://192.168.120.233/rcgi.bin/ParamForm?AST_Param=$dtES$ftH$fn

So, you will have the sysinfo list, in this list find the GSM information

In this example, we have 3 operators available, and you can see their id

Set the selected operator

When you have selected the operator, let's imagine this

Go in (Setup→System→Storage→Edit COM)

In search field, set GSM

when you see GsmOpid, set the previously retrieved value

Reboot the Cosy

 

Select the network mode

Depending on the modem, the parameter WirelessNet could take the value:

  • 0
    Automatic mode: Selection of the best technology WCDMA/GSM/ LTE (2G/3G/4G)
  • 1
    WCDMA only (3G only)
  • 2
    GSM only (2G only)
  • 3
    LTE only (4G only)

Go in (Setup→System→Storage→Edit COM)

In search field, set Wireless

when you see WirelessNet, set the mode 0, 1, 2 or 3
