How to Access the Web Interface of your PM50

PLEASE NOTE: This will require a Wi-Fi connection or an ethernet module installed on your PM50. All PM50 models come with built in Wi-Fi.

 

This article is intended to guide users on how to configure and access the PM50 web interface through a web browser. This will allow the user to program and monitor the PM50 through a web browser interface.

Optional Ethernet Module - PMM000CMENT00000

 

PRE-REQUISITES 

  • Wi-Fi access or wired ethernet access (with the use of the PMM000CMENT00000 ethernet module) is needed for internet access.
  • You will also need to have a web browser installed on your computer (Edge, Chrome, etc.).
  • Admin access to the PM50 to check IP address and complete configuration.

Configuration - Wi-Fi Setup

The Wi-Fi setup can be done during the Initial Setup Wizard, by importing the configuration from another device, or using the programming menu through the touchscreen interface Note: The Admin password must be enabled for Wi-Fi setup to be accessed. 

  1. If not using the Wizard or importing the configuration then, login to the device as the Admin user using the touchscreen
  2. Go to System Configuration → Network Configuration → Wi-Fi Configuration
    •  Set Enable Wi-Fi to ON and click the right navigation arrow
    • If the Admin Password is configured already, then the next page will be Wi-Fi Connection Mode
    • Else “Set Admin Password” page will be loaded to configure the Admin password and proceed
  3. Set the Wi-Fi Connection Mode = Client Mode
  4. In Client Mode, set Enable DHCP Client to ON and the connected running DHCP Server will assign the IP information. Otherwise, set Enable DHCP Client to OFF, then click on the right navigation arrow and setup the IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway.
  5. Enter the SSID and Password (both are case sensitive) to connect to the network for remote access.
  6. Click the Apply button on the final page to configure the Wi-Fi settings.
  7. Upon successful configuration, you will see the Wi-Fi icon appear on the top of your screen.
  8. Click the Wi-Fi icon to get device IP Info, Subnet Mask, Gateway, and Status. 
  9. Or go to Device → Misc. Configuration → About this Device and click the right navigation arrow to go to the Network Information (Wi-Fi) section. See Figure below for information regarding your network configuration

 

 

Configuration - Ethernet Module

In order to access web interface with use of ethernet module, you will need to have your PC on the same subnet as the PM50

  1. Install Ethernet Module Please see PMM000CMENT00000 product manual for reference on how to install module to your PM50. pm-50-ethernet-module-installation-guide.pdf
  2. Using Ethernet patch cable connect your PM50 to the network switch or router. 
  3. Tap the gear icon (configuration mode), go to Device -> Network/Ethernet Configuration
  4. DHCP = ON -> router will assign IP address or Static IP -> manually enter IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway. Apply settings.
  5. Verify IP address by going to Device -> About this device -> Ethernet Network IP address.

 

Accessing the Web Interface

  1. On your computer, open a web browser (Chrome, Edge, etc,)
  2. Enter https://(IP address of your PM50)
  3. The PM50 will load its web interface for viewing/configuration
  4. Login in using your Admin credentials Note: Make sure you are logged out of your admin mode on your PM50

 

ADDITIONAL INFO

  • You must exit configuration mode on the PM50 before remote login works
  • PC and PM50 must be on the same network/subnet
  • Some browsers may warn about HTTPS certificates — this is normal
  • Ethernet is mainly for:
    • Web interface
    • Modbus TCP communication
  • If it won’t connect:

  •  Wrong IP → verify on device
  •  Different subnet → match PC network
  •  No link lights → check cable/switch
  •  Firewall blocking → temporarily disable/test
  •  DHCP confusion → try static IP for testing
