How to create a simple Crimson data log file.

This article will cover steps required to setup basic datalogging for our Crimson based products.

PRE-REQUISITES

Step by step instructions for creating a basic data log file with Crimson based products.

Step 1.

Click on data logger, new log, and then configure per your application.

The above example is the default log settings based in seconds.  it will log your assigned tags every 60 seconds, and once a day at midnight log a file to the memory location you configure.  You can also set the number of log files retained before the oldest one gets overwritten. 

Once that has been configured. You can assign what tags you want to log.  In this example I have a temperature reading from an RTD being logged.

Click on the right-side resource pane then data tags and drag the tag over to the log content's view. 

Last you can but a file viewer on a display page to access the logged data. 

Click display pages, system> primitives > system primitives on the right-side resource pane.  Drag file viewer over onto the display page and left click properties.  Here you can configure the file viewer.

Once configured, you can click file save, save to a location of your choice. To download the database to the unit. click link.>options and set you comm port selections. Then click link>send to download you configuration.
