This tech note will explain how to install the 1997 timestamp patch for legacy Crimson 2.0 installations.
Before you begin:
Ensure you have administrative access to your PC.
Ensure you have a copy of the database from the device to be upgraded.
Ensure you have Crimson 2.0 Release Build 578 installed on your PC:
This build may be obtained from:
https://update.redlion.net/c2/update/setup.exe
Type or copy the following into your Windows search bar:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Red Lion Controls\Crimson 2.0
An Explorer window will open showing the Crimson installation:
Obtain the c2-patch-794.zip file from an appropriate source.
Open the zip file and verify it contains a folder called Firmware.
Select both folders and drag them into the Explorer window that you opened above. Be careful to drop them into the area occupied by the files rather than the directories. The text you should see will say Copy to Crimson 2.0. If it references any other directory, you are dropping in the wrong place!
You will see a dialog box that looks like this:
Select the Replace option to overwrite the existing files as shown above.
You will then see a dialog box that looks like this:
Ensure the checkbox is checked and select the Continue option.
Provide Admin credentials if required to complete the copy operation.
The new firmware and DLDs have now been installed.
Go to Crimson 2.0. Help - About and notice the new runtime build version.
Upgrade your device by re-downloading its database from Crimson 2.0.
