Abstract

Red Lion Controls recommends you keep up-to-date on the latest version of the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit. Occasionally, the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit is updated with new features and bug fixes. Upgrade to the new version which will automatically carry over the registration and project files.

Is the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit a single user license or multi-user license?

The Sixnet I/O Tool Kit is registered with a site license. Multiple users can use the same registration as long as they are in the same location. The location is identified with the location name in the registration record. 

Where is the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit Registration stored?

Your registration information is stored in C:\windows\sixtrak.ini. When the tool kit is uninstalled the sixtrak.ini file is not deleted. Therefore, when you install the newer version the registration is automatically detected and no registration action is required. 

 

How can you back up the Registration information?

You can back this information up by copying the file to another location or drive.

 

What if your registration information is lost?

If you lose your registration information please contact [email protected] with your company name, full name and location explaining how you lost the registration. Most of the time we can recover your registration through our internal database.

 

How to back up the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit project files (*.6pj)?

            Copy your final version of the project file onto a different folder or drive.

 

 

How to upgrade the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit?

  1. First, download the latest version on https://www.redlion.net/resources/software/sixnet-software/automation-devices-software-firmware.
  2. Uninstall the current version. Go to Windows “Settings” > Apps (Add or Remove Programs) find the Sixnet I/O Tool Kit and click uninstall.
  3. Run installation of the latest version of Sixnet I/O Tool Kit as administrator. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard.
  4. Once the lastest version is installed all older project files can be opened in the tool kit.
  5. Verify the registration information carried over by going to Help > Registration.
