This tech note will explain how to use the NTCD-CFG of the N-Tron series NT24k switch models.
N-Tron NT24K Series managed switches have a SD card slot intended to accept the NTCD-CFG. The SD slot is located on the back of the NT24K rackmount models and on the front of the NT24K-DR16 and NT24K-DR24 models. The port is also labeled with "NTCD". If you need assistance, please contact HMS Technical Support or click here.
The NTCD-CFG is a specially formatted SD memory card that is used for saving or restoring switch configuration parameters quickly without the need for a computer or software. One configuration device per switch is recommended. The NTCD-CFG will copy the current configuration from a NT24K switch and can be used to "paste" the configuration to another NT24K switch of the same model.

Insert the NTCD-CFG card in the correct orientation as shown on the label next to the slot. Access the web interface and navigate to the Configuration page. Additional text will now show up that read "Changes will also be saved to the configuration device.". Hitting "Save" will now save and write a copy of your switch's configuration to the NTCD-CFG.
The NT24K switch must start in a powered off state. Insert the NTCD-CFG card in the correct orientation as shown on the label next to the slot. Power on the NT24K; you can now log into the switch using the IP address and login credentials that was saved to the NTCD-CFG. Remove the NTCD-CFG card and navigate back to Configuration page and save the configuration the NT24K.
*Note: The configuration saved to the NTCD-CFG card MUST originate from the same NT24K switch model. You will see a red warning banner if this is not the case. The NTCD-CFG format is proprietary. Do NOT attempt to format the NTCD-CFG device in your computer/Laptop if prompted - doing so may render your card inoperable with the NT24k series.
