Abstract:

This document explains how to get Crimson 3.1 to talk to using the Cumulocity Connector Platform on Red Lion's DA50A. It assumes a basic knowledge of Crimson and its operation. For more details on the Crimson Cloud Connectors, please consult the Crimson User Manual.

 

Use Case: Cumulocity Connector

Transferring tag data using Cumulocity IoT Platform.

 

Optional Crimson Database sample file:

For testing purposes, a sample demo database file is being provided to assist you with configuration of the scenario outlined within this document.

Setting up a device on a Cumulocity account

Define Device ID used in automatic mode as shown in the screenshot below:

You may be prompted to wait for the Device Authentication request to complete as shown below:

Preparing tags in Crimson software

 

Credential configuration

String type, retentive, 64 bytes length

Communication status


Configure the numeric type as multi-state as shown below:

Authentication and status configuration

Configure the credential mode to Automatic -> this is stored in the corresponding tag as soon as authentication is accepted.

Defining the desired data sets

Simply drag and drop the desired tags as shown below:

Note - Up to 30 data sets with different update modes may be defined above.
