Creating the Database:

  1. Click file>new and select your product.
  2. Make all the changes you would like to make and when you are ready to load the file into the unit see below.

Uploading Database Over USB:

  1. Click link>options and select USB.
  2. Click link>update to load the file you have open into the unit.

Note A: If you are using windows 10 or 11 disable memory integrity in windows. If left enabled this blocks our USB driver.

Note B: If you are using a laptop be sure its running on battery power and not AC power. AC power can cause ground loops which can prevent you loading the database into the unit.

Extracting Database Over USB:

  1. Click on link>options and select USB.
  2. Clink>extract. This will attempt to extract the database currently loaded into the unit so you can save a copy.

Note C: If Link>Support Upload was not checked in the database that was last loaded into the unit you will not be able to extract. You’ll get an error “Device does not contain uploadable image”

Uploading Database Over TCP/IP

  1. Click on link>options and select TCP/IP. The IP shown needs to be the IP that the unit currently has loaded into it. Slow link should be checked.
  2. Configure the units IP under Device configuration>System Configuration>Interfaces>ethernet 1. (Typically people use manual configuration). This is the IP you will load into the unit after successfully downloading the database.
  3. Make sure TCP/IP download is enabled in the database under Device Configuration>System Configuration>Download>Network.

Note D: For this to work the unit needs to currently have an IP configured on the same network as your computer as well as have TCP/IP download enabled.

Common errors:
1) “Cannot open communications port” - This is a the most generic error and just means you can’t connect. If using USB be sure Notes A and B were followed.

2) “Device does not contain uploadble image” – See Note C
