This article will show you how to authenticate the file downloaded from the HMS Website verses what you receive.
APPLICABLE PRODUCTS
Any Products that use Crimson 2.0, 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2 in its configuration.
ISSUE / QUESTION / SYMPTOM
The issue is, when downloading the crimson software, customers want to be sure of the integrity of the software and that it was not tampered with during the download phase of obtaining said software.
The only way to verify this is to use a "checksum" on the original file vs what you are sent via the download.
POSSIBLE CAUSES / ANSWER
Send in a technical support request asking for an original "checksum" for the file as posted
The tech support agent will generate an SHA-256 check sum as shown below
The checksum will then be posted into the ticket as follows and sent back to you.
-
SHA256: b356b4084ca142b288aad98ec209210368de2852afb6ff8019cf1d816fb8c2e2
- You as the customer will do the procedure as show above on your downloaded version.
- You can then compare the 2 generated Hexadecimal numbers to be sure they are the same.

If they are different, please contact HMS Technical Support immediately!
