Guide to setting up and configuring the Ixxat CANnector using IxAdmin and ACT tools for CAN network communication.

QUESTION

How to set up and configure the Ixxat CANnector, including software installation, IP configuration and CAN bus mapping using IxAdmin and ACT tools?

 

ANSWER

  1. Download the VCI V4 from our webpage and install it with activated FRC option (for IxAdmin).

  2. Download and install the ACT tool:

  3. Start the IxAdmin tool and identify the CANnector connected via USB.

  4. Connect to the CANnector in the IxAdmin tool.

  5. Set the IP address and download the IP configuration to the CANnector using the IxAdmin tool.

  6. Create a new Configuration in the ACT tool.

  7. Configure the buses.

  8. Configure the mapping.

  9. Build the configuration using the ACT tool.

  10. Download the configuration to the CANnector (using the IxAdmin tool).

  11. Configure and start the CANnector in the "VCI device server control" (if VCI mode is used).
