How to setup a LDA series analog display for the first time

17 Jun 2025

This document will discuss setting up an LDA series analog display for the first time.

The LDA series of large analog input display can be configured for several different currant and voltage ranges. There is a bank of jumpers that will need to be set, based on application, under the right-hand end plate.

LDA input jumper setting

Depending on if your application requires a voltage or current input scaled to an engineering unit.  A single dual pin jumper will need to be set for the required input signal level.  As pictured below, the default range is set to 200 VDC maximum.

Scaling the display

There are two methods to scale the LDA display for your application unit.

  • Method 1 - manual key in scaling
  • Method 2- applied signal scaling

Method 1, you know the input signal range and display value for your application. Example, system pressure using a 4-20 mA transducer with a range of 0-100 PSI. Resolution will be to one decimal place.

Menu 1-INP settings would be as below, reference page 6-7 of the product manual for additional information.

RANGE- 0.02A

DECPT- 0.0

STYLE- KEY

INP1- 4.000

DSP1- 0.0

INP2- 20.000

DSP2-100.0

Method 2 you know the input signal is 4-20 mA but do not know the range of the transducer. You do, however, know the system pressure based on a reference gauge. Example, system is currently at 50 PSI. You can use the applied signal to scale the display to a known value.

Menu 1-INP settings

RANGE- 0.02A

DECPT- 0.0

STYLE- APLY

INP1- (press the SEL button)

DSP1- 0.0

INP2- (press the RST button)

DSP2- 50 PSI

Once you exit program mode the display will read 50 PSI based on the active signal from the transducer.
