Crimson 3.2 includes Ethernet and Serial Modbus drivers that easily connect to Red Lion PM-50 Meters. These drivers provide access to all PM-50 registers. The drivers contain all register information. Further, the drivers include the facility to automatically create Crimson data tags mapped to PM-50 variables, allowing the rapid creation of complex applications without the need to manually create and map data tags. Finally, the default communication setting in this driver match the defaults in the PM-50.

Crimson 3.2
The PM-50 Ethernet driver exchanges data between a PM-50 and FlexEdge using Modbus framing on the PM-50 WIFI or wired Ethernet.
After selecting this driver, all port parameters match the PM-50 defaults. If the PM-50 defaults are changed, change the corresponding driver parameter.
The PM50 Model and IP Address must be selected. All other parameters match the PM-50 defaults. If the PM-50 defaults are changed, change the corresponding driver parameter.
The Serial driver uses Modbus framing.
After selecting this driver, all parameters match the PM-50 defaults. If the PM-50 defaults are changed, change the corresponding driver parameter.
After you get the Serial Driver working with the PM-50, change the Protocol Type to Modbus RTU in this driver and in the PM-50 to get better performance.
Only the PM50 Model must be selected. All other parameters match the PM-50 defaults. If the PM-50 defaults are changed, change the corresponding driver parameter.
See Crimson 3.2 Help – Contents… for help with parameters not listed above.
Clicking the Create Data Tags link will create data tags mapped to all device variables, under a folder.
Crimson data tags may be manually mapped to PM-50 registers in the conventional way using the Select Address Dialog as shown.
