The Logistics Compliance Specialist is part of the Logistics & Order Management department and a member of the Order Planning Team. The Logistics Compliance Specialist reports to the Order Planning Manager.
This position plays a key role in ensuring that our logistics operations comply with trade, customs, and export regulations while supporting transport performance and continuous improvement. By combining regulatory compliance responsibilities with operational transport follow-up, the role contributes directly to secure, efficient, and sustainable supply chain operations.
Essential Job Functions
The Logistics Compliance Specialist is responsible for securing compliance with customs, trade, and export control regulations in its region of responsibility and ensuring that related processes, master data, and documentation are accurate and maintained. The role supports the organization with expert knowledge on customs classification, preferential origin, export control, and documentation requirements.
This role will be the designated trade compliance point of contact for all internal and external trade related inquiries, including serving as the primary liaison with all trade-related regulatory agencies.
In addition to trade compliance, the role is responsible for monitoring and reporting transport performance, supporting continuous improvement in logistics operations, and contributing to sustainability efforts through CO₂ follow-up and reporting
Key responsibilities include:
· Ensure compliance with customs, trade, and export control regulations.
· Maintain and improve classification processes, master data, and documentation.
· Proactively monitor and implement legal updates and regulatory agency guidance publications.
· Support order screening, export control processes, and end-user certificate handling.
· Monitor carrier performance and transport KPIs and maintain related ERP data.
· Support sustainability reporting related to transport activities.
Customs & Trade Compliance
· Ensure accuracy of customs master data in the ERP system (e.g., HTS codes, country of origin, preferential origin).
· Lead the classification process in collaboration with internal experts and external partners.
· Review and ensure the quality and completeness of customs documents such as commercial invoices and packing slips.
· Prepare, issue, or coordinate issuance of Certificates of Origin (preferential and non-preferential), origin declarations, supplier declarations, and related proof-of-origin documentation
· Perform regular checks of customs broker declarations to ensure accuracy and compliance, taking corrective or drawback action when needed.
· Act as the main contact for customs-related inquiries and collaborate with customs brokers and
carriers.
· Ensure HMS Customs brokers’ instruction is maintained and updated.
Export Control
· Together with the Legal department, ensure the export control program is implemented and maintained.
· Maintain ECCN classifications and update export control system parameters and features.
· Support the Order Management team with order screening results, end-user documentation, export licenses and export control-related questions.
Transport Performance & Sustainability
· Monitor carrier performance, delivery reliability, lead times, and report transport KPIs.
· Maintain and update transport-related master data such as lead times in the ERP system.
· Participate in business reviews with local carriers and support optimization of transport setups.
· Ensure accurate CO₂ reporting and follow up on transport-related sustainability targets.
· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain preferred, or a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Travel
