Position Summary 

HMS Networks is seeking a Hardware Engineering Co-op/Intern student to assist with the development, testing, and sustainment of embedded industrial automation products. We are seeking a college student to join our team in York, PA. 

 

Essential Job Functions 

  • Works in collaboration with the engineering team and operations in the design, validation, and sustainment of embedded hardware designs. 

  • Assist with thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC testing of products. 

  • Perform hardware Design validation testing of industrial automation products. 

  • Become familiar with ERP system to assist with BOM creation and drawing updates. 

  • Work with Altium CAD design tools to support component creation and schematic capture. 

  • Develops, tests, and documents processes necessary to support design verification. 

  • Carries out other duties as assigned as business needs require. 

 

Minimum Required Education and Skills: 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor’s degree program. 

  • Background in embedded hardware design using ARM or other microcontrollers. 

  • Good troubleshooting and debugging skills. 

  • Knowledge with using support equipment such as Oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. 

  • Ability to work with others in team environment. 

  • Experience with soldering electronic components. 

  • Must be open to learning new technologies and adapt quickly to dynamic environments. 

  • Possesses great communication and analytical skills.
