The new driver is available free of charge and will simplify HVAC integration into Control4, particularly in projects requiring cost-effective multi-indoor unit control.
The Control4 driver, currently pending certification, replaces previous IntesisBox drivers with a fully reworked architecture. Existing drivers will continue to operate in deployed systems without impact.
Residential automation platforms increasingly require direct access to HVAC system parameters for centralized control, scheduling, and user experience consistency. However, integration complexity and limited interoperability across HVAC brands have traditionally required custom solutions.
The new Intesis HVAC Gateway driver addresses this by enabling standardized communication between Control4 and HVAC indoor units through Intesis gateways.
The driver is fully compatible with the Intesis 700 Series Air gateways, which introduce a multi-brand, multi-protocol approach to HVAC integration.
A single hardware platform can be configured to work with different HVAC manufacturers using the Intesis MAPS tool. This allows integrators to standardize hardware selection while adapting to project-specific requirements. The solution supports multi-indoor unit control, with scalable licensing from small residential installations to larger multi-zone projects.
By providing a free, standardized driver aligned with the 700 Series Air platform, Intesis enables system integrators to reduce integration time, simplify commissioning, and deliver consistent HVAC control experiences across projects.
