This combined 2-day course is ideal for anyone working with industrial networking with EtherNet/IP at a technical level, including designers, commissioning engineers, maintenance technicians, and installers. It provides a comprehensive foundation in both the essential principles of industrial networking with EtherNet/IP and the practical skills needed to troubleshoot and maintain EtherNet/IP networks.
The course provides:
A strong understanding of industrial networking and EtherNet/IP adapter/scanner network operation. The best practices for commissioning, health-checking, and troubleshooting of EtherNet/IP networks.
No prior EtherNet/IP training qualifications are required, as the EtherNet/IP Installer module is included on the first day of this combined course.

- Basic EtherNet/IP scanner/adapter network technology, CIP errors, and addressing network configuration and start-up
- Interference pickup (EMC), cable routing and earthing considerations, earth potential problems and their avoidance
- Causes, effects, and avoidance of transmission-line reflections and the importance of correct line termination
- Network and segment size and layout limitations and the effect of transmission rate
- Common wiring and layout pitfalls, modern cable and connector systems
- Considerations for network maintenance and commissioning
- Correct use of layer 2 Ethernet switches, copper segments, and fiber-optic segments
- Wiring and installation testing, and the use of cabling test tools
- Network configuration and the use of network diagnostic tools
- The use of Wireshark traffic analyzers / monitoring tools to audit A Network
- The practical use of a managed Ethernet switches to control and analyze traffic
