QUESTION
I have a new laptop and during Init ProfiCore, an Error Type pops-up. It is working with my old laptop so what can be the issue?
Error type 1, Error type 3 or Error type 5
ANSWER
The ProfiCore doesn't receive enough power from the USB port.
The solution:
- Try a shorter USB A to B cable. This works in most cases.
- Add the mini USB for extra power (It's best to use the USB port on the other side of the laptop)
- Use a separate 9 Vdc power on the power connection. See ProfiTrace manual for specifications.
- If the laptop is on battery powered, connected the laptop to the mains power for extra power on the USB port.
