How to setup the PAXT panel meter for the first time

This document will discuss setting up an PAXT analog panel meter for the first time. 

 

The PAXT analog panel meter can be configured to display temperature based on a thermocouple or RTD inputs. An optional dual or quad relay setpoint card can be added to give control for setpoint activated indication, or simple ON/OFF temperature control of your application.

Unit Setup 

A few parameters in Menu 1-INP will need to be configured based on your input type and displayed temperature unit. Basic settings are listed below. See page 17-18 of the PAX analog product manual for more detail.

 

Menu 1-INP 

RANGE-set for your input signal type 

SCALE - set for your application temperature unit C or F 

DECPT - set for the application display resolution

 

Optional setpoint relay card 

The PAX analog input panel meter can be fitted with an optional setpoint activated relay card to offer basic indication functions, or simple ON/OFF process control. 

  • PAXCDS10 - Dual Form C relay card
  • PAXCDS20- Quad Form A relay card

 

If adding one of these option cards. Consult Menu 6-SPT, page 23-24 of the product manual for more information.  Basic setup is outlined below. 

 

Menu 6-SPT 

SPSEL- set to the setpoint relay you are going to configure 

ACT-set your output action type, Low or high side activation

SP- set for your process setpoint value 

OUT-set your application output logic. 

RST- set your reset action type.  

 

The above are basic output settings only, there are optional settings in the product manual you may need to use based on your application.  Consult the product manual for more information.
