How to Convert from a Legacy IFMR to IFM0001 Signal Conditioner

10 Jun 2025

Please note

A PGMMOD05 programming unit will be required for setting up the IFM0001 signal conditioner.

Once setup, you do not need to keep it mounted to the module unless a local display is desired.

If you have multiple IFM0001 modules that require the same setup.  You can save the configuration to the PGMMOD05 unit, then download it to other IFM0001 modules.  This function is under the advanced menu, memory store/ memory load parameter.

The module power connections are not polarity sensitive.

Module power connections are not polarity sensitive.

Programming the module input, scale, and trip relay is referenced on page 27-29 of the product manual. You generally will need to configure the following parameters.

  • Input unit signal type
  • Input unit is normally set in Hz
  • Relative unit, normally set to DISP
  • Relay function type
  • Relay action type
  • Relay setpoint

Basic parameter conversion

When converting from the IFMR unit to the IFM0001, the below parameters will need to be set.

Input type - IN.TYPE

Input excitation voltage - S.SUP (if required)

Input unit-IN.UNIT  (Hz)

Input frequency- P.REV

Trip relay function- R1.FUNC

Trip relay contact logic- R1.CONT

Trip relay setpoint- R1.SETP

Trip relay action - ACT.DIR

Trip relay hysteresis- R1.HYS

Once the unit has been configured for the application. A long press of the OK button will exit configuration mode.  It is suggested that you enter the advanced menu, memory save parameter, and save your configuration to the PGMMOD05 unit.
