Connect M-Bus and Modbus-based building equipment to BACnet or KNX

Factory to Building gateways

Factory-to-Building gateways allow industrial equipment to communicate with building controllers and building management systems (BMS) by connecting Modbus and M-Bus devices with popular Building Automation networks such as BACnet and KNX.

Modbus to BACnet and KNX systems

The Anybus Factory-to-Building gateways support the communication protocols used in the building sector, e.g. BACnet and KNX. In addition, they also include Modbus TCP Client and Modbus RTU Master functionality.

  • Enables central control and supervision of Modbus devices within building automation on BACnet (both IP and MS/TP) or KNX
  • Connects up to 254 Modbus slaves to BACnet or KNX (processing up to 3000 Modbus registers), managing both Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU simultaneously
  • BTL certification for BACnet

M-Bus sensors connected to Modbus TCP control systems

Cooling, heat, water, electricity – Modern buildings use various sensors to collect different physical values. These sensors usually communicate via M-Bus. Using the Anybus M-Bus to Modbus-TCP gateway, a sensor can be easily accessed by central system controllers using Modbus TCP.

  • Get data on your consumption of electricity, water or gas onto a Modbus TCP network
  • Enable total overview of your site’s consumption, including building parameters (electricity, water, gas etc.) into a SCADA system
  • No hardware or software changes are required for the connected M-Bus device
  • Two versions available supporting connection up to 20 or 80 M-Bus Loads

What I really like about the Anybus M-Bus gateway is that it is very easy to use and quick to install. Before, it could take several hours to configure a single meter running M-Bus. With the Anybus gateway we can set things up in 10 minutes!
