Verified device applications using Anybus Communicator gateways
Product Type:
Temperature Controller
Allen-Bradley 900-TC Solution Overview:
The AnyBus Communicator can be configured to communicate with the Allen-Bradley 900-TC series of temperature controllers. This enables connectivity with the networking protocols supported by the AnyBus Communicator. Solution Brief:
The Allen-Bradley 900-TC series of temperature controllers are available with both RS-232 and RS-485 communication interface. This application note describes how to use the RS-485 interface, but using the
It is not possible to use the RS-232 interface to do a multi-drop installation, since this is only a point-to-point connection. To be able to do a multi-drop installation it is necessary to connect the AnyBus Communicator to the temperature controller using RS-485. This requires that the accessory Allen Bradley 900-TC8COM option card is installed in the temperature controller
This application note describes how to setup a configuration reading a parameter from the temperature controller. This document is available from HMS with sample configuration files for Profibus and Ethernet reading several parameters. Also available is a sample webpage that can be used with the AnyBus Communicator for Ethernet. Comments:
It is possible to have up to 10 user defined email files, email_1.cfg to email10.cfg. If the user would like to receive an e-mail that is event triggered, for example if a motor exceeds 1000 rpm, it is possible to set that up. For further information read the User manual, which can be downloaded from: www.anybus.com
