Solution Overview:
This document explains the procedure for configuring the Modbus serial interface between the Unitronics Vision 120 OPLC and the Anybus Communicator for DeviceNet. The Vision 120 OPLC will act as a Modbus slave to the Anybus Communicator.

Solution Brief:
The Vision PLC will be configured as a Modbus RTU Slave by writing a ladder logic program and downloading it to the PLC. The Ladder Logic program will configure the Modbus settings such as COM port, parity and addressing, as shown below:

COM port 2
Baudrate = 19200
Data bits = 8
Parity = None
Stop Bits = 1

The following ModbusRTU registers are communicated with
Read Holding Registers:
40102 to 40111 (M101 to M110)

The configuration for the Anybus Communicator can be used for different fieldbus types. Change the Fieldbus type in the configuration and download to the Anybus Communicator of the same type fieldbus.
