Control Techniques Commander SK Solution Overview:
The example shows how to connect a Commander SK drive to Profibus. The Anybus Communicator is used to connect between Profibus and the Commander SK drives built in ModbusRTU port. Solution Brief:
The Commander SK drive has to be configured for serial communications as well as the Anybus Communicator. It is assumed that the initial parameters are set up according to the manual of the Commander SK drive.
In this example the Commander SK drive serial communication parameters has been programmed as shown below:
Baudrate = 19200
Stop bits = 2
Data bits = 8
Parity = None
Protocol = RS485
The following ModbusRTU registers are communicated with the drive:
Read:
41040 Status Word
40501 Output Speed
Write:
40642 Control Word
40121 Preset Speed #1
The ?Control Word Enable? and ?Reference Selector? Commander SK drive are set once during start-up of the Anybus Communicator as a single shot.

Comments:
The configuration for the Anybus Communicator can be used for different fieldbus types. Change the Fieldbus type in the configuration and download to the Anybus Communicator of the same type fieldbus.
