HMS helps to reduce system integration costs by releasing three new versions of the Anybus X-gateway family for Profinet with IRT functionality and with integrated 2-port switch technology.

The new X-gateway versions enable easy integration of existing Profibus, Interbus or CANopen fieldbus networks into new Profinet based network segments. These three new gateway versions are released with a specific focus on the European automobile industry where current fieldbus networks like Profibus and Interbus are currently being migrated to Profinet.

Strong Q4 growth provides a solid base for expansion

HMS reports better than expected results for Q4 2009. Order intake and sales improved further the last quarter of 2009. During Q4, sales were 27% higher and order intake 37% higher than the previous quarter, which represented a 10% increase compared to the corresponding quarter in 2008.


"We have noticed a more stable market situation in Germany and in China and a recovery on the Japanese market. Together with the improved Q3 & Q4 result levels we are now ready to start the next step in the HMS expansion plan" says Staffan Dahlström CEO of HMS.

"Primarily this will be accomplished by an increase in resources and a strengthening of the company´s sales channels to develop the HMS position in new market areas. The product offering will be broadened mainly in the form of new Gateway products at the same time as we continue to develop the already successful product offering within the area of Embedded products" continues Staffan.

When ordering an Anybus X-gateway with a Profibus or DeviceNet Master interface, HMS is now including the Anybus NetTool Master

HMS will open its new UK sales office located in the Midlands from the 1st March 2010. The office will provide local sales and marketing support for HMS' UK and Irish based customers.

Since 2006 Anybus gateway products have been represented and distributed by Routeco PLC in the UK and by Hanley Automation Netwoks Ltd, in the Rep.Ireland. HMS will continue this well running arrangement for Gateway distribution and will further expand its co-operation with the two partners.

The new UK office, located in Birmingham will be headed by Mr Bjorn Franzen, who will be focused on customers with applications for our Embedded Anybus products.

One of HMS's first main activities in the UK will be the participation at the upcoming Drives & Controls exhibition at the Birmingham NEC in June.

The new EtherNet/IP module with integrated 2-port switch is the latest addition to the Anybus-S family. The new 2-port version allows EtherNet/IP real-time communication with line or ring topologies and eliminates the need for expensive external switches. The module provides instant integration in any Ethernet based LAN via SMTP, FTP, Telnet, HTTP as well as EtherNet/IP and/or Modbus/TCP. Additional protocols can be implemented on top of TCP/IP or UDP using the transparent socket interface.

The Anybus-S family of embedded communication modules allows automation devices to connect to 18 industrial networks including Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, CC-Link, Ethernet/IP and EtherCAT. Using the Anybus-S modules, device manufacturers can save up to 70% in development costs and reduce their time-to-market.

HMS adds new distributors in Hungary and the Balkans

HMS welcomes INEA SR.doo, as our new partner in the Balkans. INEA will be covering countries from former Yugoslavia. INEA will handle the sales and technical support for both Anybus Gateways and Embedded Solutions in Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Macedonia, and Slovenia.

As of 1st february PART Rendszertechnika Kft, based in Hungary, will now provide local sales and support for Anybus gateways. Part is a certified system integrator of Rockwell Automation and their project department uses many different kind of PLC in their solutions to customers.
