HMS introduces the 1SI CANopen Master/Slave module for the Siemens ET200S I/O system
HMS in joint co-operation with Siemens AG, introduces a new plug-in CANopen Master/Slave extension module for the Siemens SIMATIC ET200S I/O system.
The new 1 SI CANopen module brings CANopen connectivity to the SIMATIC ET200S distributed I/O system, allowing seamlessly integration of CANopen devices into the Siemens automation architecture.
The CANopen module fits mechanically into the standard ET200 system rack and can be used in combination with all other Siemens modules of the ET200S family. Via the standard Siemens Profibus or Profinet bus coupler of the ET200S, the 1 SI CANopen module can be used along with the huge range of Siemens automation and control systems including SIMATIC, SIMOTION and SINUMERIC systems.
The 1SI CANopen enables the easy integration of Siemens equipment into business segments where CANopen is used today. The module is integrated into Step7 which helps to minimize engineering efforts. The CANopen Master configuration is made via an external CANopen configuration tool.
The new 1SI CANopen module has successfully passed Siemens system approval testing and is shipped from December 2009 onwards.

Sercos III added to the Anybus-CC family
HMS in joint co-operation with Bosch Rexroth introduces Sercos III as the latest extension of the Anybus-CC family of embedded communication modules.
Anybus-CC is a family of embedded communication modules enabling automation devices to connect easily to the ever growing range of industrial networks. With the release of the new Sercos III module, HMS extends its connectivity offer into the Ethernet based Sercos III technology.
The new Anybus-CC Sercos III module incorporates the complete functionality of a Sercos III slave interface including the FSP IO profile. HMS offers the module as a ready-made Sercos III interface and users do not have to care about additional Sercos III technology license fees. The size of the Sercos III module is similar to a compact flash card and the module is fully interchangeable with all other modules of the Anybus-CC family.
The connection to the Sercos III network is made via two RJ45 standard Ethernet connectors supporting all standard Sercos III network topologies. In addition to the Sercos III Real Time communication protocol, the module supports industrial IT functions via the same physical network interface. IT-functions include embedded web server, FTP-Server, E-Mail client and a full featured TCP/IP socket interface.
The new Anybus-CC module reduces efforts and risks needed to develop a Sercos III network interface by up to 70% and speeds up the time to market.

New SAE J1939 to Profibus Gateway
New Intelligent Gateway
connects SAE J1939 networks to Siemens PLC systems
This new addition to the Anybus gateway family enables a Profibus-DP Master to read and write J1939 network data for control and monitoring tasks. The gateway accomplishes this by operating simultaneously as a Profibus-DP Slave on a Profibus network and as a CAN node on a J1939 network. Data is exchanged from either network based on a user defined configuration.
HMS provides a free Windows-based configuration tool (BWConfig) that allows the user to map J1939 parameter (PGN) data into the module's input and output tables, accessible by the Profibus Master over the Profibus-DP network.
The J1939 to Profibus gateway is the newest member of HMS´ Anybus gateway family. HMS also provides J1939 gateways between Modbus-RTU, Modbus-TCP and EtherNet/IP.
